The local Safeway had a good deal on rib eye steaks, so I decided to buy a few, invite some friends over, and bake them up. I usually BBQ steak, but a reader sent me a great sounding baked rib eye steak recipe that I wanted to try out. And they came out great (Thanks Daniel!) I added a lot of garlic as suggested, and they were a big hit. Here’s the recipe:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine egg and Worcestershire sauce in mixing bowl. In a separate mixing bowl, combine bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cover each ribeye steak in egg mixture then place into bread crumb mixture to cover. Place ribeye steaks in baking pan and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy. Serve the baked ribeye steak immediately with favorite vegetable.
I added crushed garlic to the bread crumb mixture for a little zing, and it was great (but a bit clumpy). I also served the steak with sweet potato fries, which I love. It came out really good.
