I had someone email me for a strawberry cool whip recipe, so I thought I’d see what I could figure out, since I’ve tried strawberry cool whip a few times, and love it!

It looks like strawberry cool whip is only available at select stores, and only between January and August. So if you want it at other times of the year, you’ll have to invent a recipe. I tried using regular cool whip, strawberry extract, and red food coloring, and thought it turned out great. I was able to make it exactly like I like it, and it wasn’t fake tasting at all. I like it better than the real strawberry Cool Whip!

I also tried the following recipe:

INGREDIENTS

1 container Cool Whip
1 package strawberry Jell-o
1 c fresh strawberries, chopped

DIRECTIONS

Remove Cool Whip and place in a mixing bowl. Fold in package of strawberry Jell-o. Fold in chopped strawberries.

This recipe was super tasty, but honestly didn’t taste very much like strawberry Cool Whip, but it’s worth trying!
