I tried a few different recipes for chocolate dipped strawberries before I found one that I liked. One of the important things is finding a brand of chocolate that you like. I’m not a big Hersheys fan, so I’ve never liked using that for my chocolate sauces. I’ve always been partial to Ghirardelli – at least for desserts, fondue, etc. Here’s one of my favorite recipes for Chocolate Dipped Strawberries:
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, or in the microwave. To melt the chocolate in the microwave, heat at half power for about 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or so until melted.
Cover a cookie sheet or flat pan with parchment or waxed paper. Hold the strawberry by the stem and dip into the chocolate. Lift it and give it a little twist, letting the extra chocolate drip back into the bowl. Set the finished strawberries on the paper. That’s it! It’s really pretty quick and easy. Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, usually about 30 minutes.
For an added touch of flair, you can drizzle the strawberries with melted white chocolate. It’s just as easy as adding the dark chocolate, and makes the strawberries look really fancy.
People go crazy for these at parties, but they are so easy to make!
